The city Solapur of Maharashtra state is located in the western region. Solapur is the 5th largest city in Maharashtra. It is known as the Shri Siddharam ji's area. Shri Siddharam temple was built by 'Shri Siddheshwar'. They established nearly 67 Shivlingas here. It is one of the ancient temples here.
Solapur is also surrounded by religious places from all 4 sides which include places - Akkalkot, Pandharpur, Tuljapur, and Ganagapura.
1. Akkalkot-
Akkalkot is a City in Solapur district in the Indian state of Maharashtra.
Akkalkot is largely recognized for its federation with Shri Swami Samarth Maharaj, carried by his proponents of Lord Dattatreya. Shri Swami Samarth Maharaj stayed for two decades at Akkalkot, particularly at the estate of his follower Cholappa, where his tomb and monument are now placed.
2. Pandharpur-
Pandharpur is a well-known pilgrimage city, located on the banks of the River Bhima which is also known as Chandrabhaga in Solapur district.
It is an important religious place in Maharashtra and it is also known as South Kashi in Maharashtra.
The Vithoba Temple here, recognized as Shri Vitthal-Rukmini Mandir is the major center of worship for Vithoba, an aspect of the god Vishnu or Krishna, and his group Rakhumai. It is an extensively visited temple in Maharashtra. The Warkaris start walking from their homes to the temple of Pandharpur in groups named Dindi to attain on Aashadhi Ekadashi and Kartiki Ekadashi. A fall in the sacred river Chandrabhaga is believed to have the strength to rinse all the sins of the devotees.
3. Tuljapur-
Tuljapur is a city in the Osmanabad district in the Indian state of Maharashtra.
It is known as that home to the Tulja Bhavani Temple. She is an avatar of the Hindu goddess Parvati.
It is reckoned that the temple was attended by Shivaji Maharaj to receive blessings from the goddess.

4. Ganagapura-
Ganagapura is remarked for its temple to Lord Dattatreya, who is understood to have accomplished fulfillment on the banks of the junction of rivers Bhima-Amarja.
Jagannath Shinde, Shri Kissan Sarda, Kurban Hussain, Malappa Dhanashetty; these 4 martyrs who marked their name in the history of Independence are from Solapur. So, in their memory, their statues have been assembled in an area named 'Chaar Putala Chowk'.
Solapur also has historical importance as well. The historical Bhuikort Fort which was once ruled by the Mughals; has the cravings on its wall indicating that in archaic times, Solapur was also known as 'Sonnalpur'.
Even 'Naldurg Fort' and 'Golghumat' of Vijapur is equally outstanding.
Akluj village has a one-day picnic spot named 'Sayajiraje Waterpark' which is quite famous and beautiful too.
Maldhok Sanctuary at Nannaj, Lord Vishnu's temple at Barshi, and also Hattarsang Kundal has a meeting point of two rivers Bheema and Sina.
"Bhigwan" a spot on the Solapur-Pune highway where thousands of Flamingos migrate each year and stay there for almost 3 to 4 months.
Solapur is popular for its Clothing industry which involves Chadar, Carpets, etc and thus the city is also known as cloth center. The district ranks 1st in 'Biddi' and 'Cigarette' industries as well. However, the city also supports to produce road materials from the plastics.
Solapur stands 4th for the clean Railway Station in India. The city was awarded in 2018 for the same.
Solapur is reasonably recognized for its Education as well.
Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University includes 100 + Higher Education colleges. Also, it has Medical colleges and Hospitals as well.
The city is entire of festivals. Each year during Makar Sankranthi, Shri Siddharam temple celebrates the beautiful 'Akshata Sohala' and later it's 'Yatra' is executed at 'Home Maidan' ground; where all the people of any age come and enjoy.
As there are huge numbers of followers of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar in Solapur, so the celebration of Ambedkar Jayanthi is also the grand one!
The one who visits Solapur must taste 'Sudha idli', 'Kamat hotel', 'Park Chowpati', 'Krushna Faluda'. A sweet named 'Huggi' is a little different but good to taste is found here. Solapur is quite known for its 'Groundnut Chutney'.
The market area of the city is always crowded; the areas such as 'Navi-peth', 'Begum-peth', 'Chaati Galli', and many more are daily crowded with lots of people to shop.
