Bright hope to the start of an end; Cure for Corona on the way!

Hey, how you all are doing? Well! so before heading with our new topic, I am willing to know whether you guys have checked my previous article or not. If not then surely check it once by clicking here on my topic- Coronavirus, Positive and Border of Bright side.
Now let's come to our today's topic. So as I am a Pharmacy student I thought that it would be my responsibility to share details with you regarding vaccines in simpler language.
Fine, so going ahead for a vaccine, here are some points that we need to be aware of; so firstly let us know  "What exactly Vaccine is"
  • A vaccine is a preparation that provides immunity against any particular disease which is infectious to our body.
  • It resembles a disease-causing micro-organism.
  • It is injected into our bloodstream.
  • Our body recognizes any other unwanted particle in our body and kills it.
And secondly what we should priorly know is, "What does Clinical Phase Trial mean"

So there are  2  types of trials -

  1. The preclinical trial, wherein the vaccine is injected into animals and the effect is observed
  2. The clinical trial, it takes place after the preclinical trial is successfully done. This phase includes further 3 trials as mentioned below -
।- In this phase, the vaccine is administered to a handful of people I .e.approximately 25 to 90 volunteers. How actually the vaccine works is observed and noted. The serious Side Effects are been spotted and worked on.
।।- In this phase, around 100 volunteers are given the vaccine and the common short term Side Effects are observed. How the body of volunteers is responding to the vaccine is seen.
।।।- Here, around 100 to 1000 volunteers are involved to inject the vaccine. The minor side effects are seen and the safety of the vaccine is Ensured. Confirmation of the efficacy of a vaccine is witnessed.
All these phases are taken place under a well educated and trained member's. Each minute detail related to trials is recorded in a systemic manner. In India, currently, the entire clinical trial process is been monitored by Dr.Renu Swaroop who is secretary of the Department of Biotechnology in the Ministry of Science India.

To find the Vaccine against SARS-COVID-19, many Researchers worldwide are working day and night by sticking around the clock. Some of the countries are Russia, China, UK, India, and the USA.  Among these, in India; Zydus Cadila is working on two vaccines, Biological E, Bharat Biotech, Indian Immunologicals, Mynvax, and Serum Institute are developing one vaccine. But out of these the Oxford University of US is the front runner as it has completed with its । and ।। clinical trials and it has worked successfully as it was observed that the vaccine generated approximately 90% of antigens into our body to fight against the virus. Besides, it has also induced virus-attacking T-cells, providing double protection from the disease. ।।। trial phase needs approximately 2 months. Now the National Institutes of Health has announced the Phase ।।। launch of widespread clinical trials of its COVID-19 vaccine study in the USA along with the UK and Brazil. The CEO of Serum Institute India, Adar Poonawalla has partnered with Oxford for the vaccines mass production and SII has also stated that the company would start manufacturing the vaccine, even before the final nod is received. The company is equipped to produce 300 million doses. Poonawalla has also added in his statement that they are trying to make it accessible under Rs.1000 so that it can be Affordable to everyone.
Oxford, which is leading in the global vaccine competition has ensured to deliver a large percentage of doses to not only  India but also other countries as well. Also, the US government has doubled its funding to Oxford up to 1 Billion US dollars. They are ahead of all others in the vaccine trials so Oxford might be the FIRST to launch globally.
As the last phase I .e.।।। phase involves at least 2 months for trials, we can consider that the vaccine might be launched in December 2020 or Early 2021. It will again take much time even after the vaccine is available; as the Mortality Rate, I .e.Death Rate is higher among 60 or above aged people, the vaccine shall be administered to the first and then to the children and other aged people. Actually, it is not the One Day Program to be conducted so it would be BEST if we keep taking care of ourselves and our family, relatives, society, and ultimately whole Nation will be soon free from these deadly viruses.
Last but not least, let us all Hope that the Deadly Virus Dies Sooner. Till then Take Care.

Current new update -

The recent update on the vaccine is that Russia has announced the first-ever Corona Vaccine.
Russian President Putin said that the vaccine has proven efficient during tests and offers lasting immunity to the virus.
Putin's daughter is amongst the people who have been inoculated by the vaccine so far.
